Grace by definition is “to decorate or add beauty to (something).”

Before we get started I want you to know this is about a song and I usually don’t write about music because my tastes are so versatile. I’m also partially ashamed of a few of my song selections, and you probably should be too. However, I truly haven’t been this in love with a song in quite some time and it’s because I resonate with the very words she sings. It’s my entire existence.

How can it be?

How can it be that I fail a thousand times and there’s only grace for me? Grace that I never earned. (Ephesians 2:4-9) Love that abounds. Love that covered my sins before I even thought about committing them.

Why is it that He, Jesus, still chooses me time and time again?

If you’re not A Christian, don’t stop exploring until you find the truth. But ask yourself: when your mate, family, friends, or your career fails you, who can you count on? Who chooses you unconditionally and all you have to do is accept the offer? (Romans 6:23)

How is it that I’m so forgiven, loved, and full of it at the same time?

Could there be a higher power committed to seeing you be your best self, who doesn’t care that you’ve done something wrong? Who welcomes you with open arms even after you’ve failed them again? I say yes, and the answer is in the words of this song.

I encourage you to just close your eyes and listen.

…or if you like to be visually captivated pay attention to the words on your screen.

Let me know in the comments how the words of the song makes you feel! What feelings does this evoke in you? Does God show you grace when you dong deserve it? Who do you know that would benefit from having these words penetrate their heart?
